Bio: Anna B. Gatdula is currently pursuing a Master of Arts degree in Musicology at Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music. She received a Bachelor's of Music in Vocal Performance at DePauw University.

As a budding researcher, Anna received the Frank W. Howes Student Summer Grant allowing her to conduct an independent research project in the archives of New York City’s Lincoln Center for Performing Arts. Her project focused on the conducting career of Gustav Mahler at the Metropolitan Opera House and the New York Philharmonic Society. She intends to continue her musicological studies on music aesthetics, philosophy, and critical cultural theory.

Anna has also enjoyed a prolific singing career in her undergraduate studies. Most recently, she played the role of Amor in DePauw Opera’s Production of L'incoronazione di Poppea. In the summer 2013, she played the role of Barbarina in La Musica Lirica’s production of Le Nozze di Figaro. She has won numerous first place awards for the Indiana Chapter and Great Lakes Regional Chapter of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS).

Born in the Philippines and immigrating to the states in her childhood, Anna has a personal connection to the peoples of Southeast Asia. She gives many thanks to her role model (and mother) for being an examplar of the hard-working, kind, and generous Filipina.
