Rehita Hasian Batubara (Sian) was born in Medan and raised in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Applied Linguistics from the State University of Medan, Indonesia, and a Master's degree in Linguistics from Jawaharlal Nehru University in New Delhi, India. With over 10 years of experience, she has served as a language instructor for English and Bahasa Indonesia, catering to learners of various age groups. In her most recent role, she worked as an English lecturer at Walailak University in Thailand.
Having grown up and lived in different countries with their own unique languages and cultures, Rehita has gained valuable multidimensional exposure and experience. This has allowed her to interact and learn from individuals from diverse backgrounds. As part of her FLTA assignment at Indiana University Bloomington, she aims to promote closer understanding of Indonesian culture and foster diversity within the international community.
