Learn Tagalog (Filipino)
Ang tulog na hipon, tinatangay ng agos.
Literal translation: A sleeping shrimp is swept away by the tide.
English equivalent: If you snooze, you loose.
Tagalog (Filipino) is one of two national languages of the Philippines, where around 115 million people live. Outside of the Philippines, however, the largest concentration of Tagalog speakers is found in the United States, where 1.7 million people speak the language at home, according to the 2019 American Community Survey conducted by the U.S. Census Bureau.
Whether you want to stay in Indiana or travel the world, learning Tagalog will allow you to connect with a language and culture shared by millions of people across the globe.
