2021/22 Thai Instructor

IU Welcomes Omthip Rareethong (Film) as the new Thai language instructor!

We are happy to welcome our new Thai language instructor for the 2021/22 Academic Year!!!

Here is some info about Omthip Rareethong (Film) – our FLTA from Thailand.

Omthip Rareethong, also known as Ajarn Film, was born and raised in Phetchabun, Thailand. She received a B.A. in English from Chiang Mai University in 2015. She is an English instructor specializing in preparing courses for Grade-12 students at Sapphawittayakhom School in Tak, Thailand.

She is a Foreign Language Teaching Assistant (FLTA) supported by the Fulbright scholarship, which is awarded by Thailand-United States Educational Foundation. With the Fulbright scholarship, she is able to study and teach Thai language for nine months at Indiana University-Bloomington, Indiana, USA. She loves traveling to different places, making new friends, watching movies, and trying new foods.

The Fulbright FLTA Program is sponsored by the United States Department of State Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA). As part of the Fulbright Foreign Student Program, the Fulbright FLTA Program is designed to develop Americans' knowledge of foreign cultures and languages by supporting teaching assistantships in over 30 languages at hundreds of U.S. institutions of higher education. The program offers educators from over 50 countries the opportunity to develop their professional skills and gain first-hand knowledge of the U.S., its culture and its people.
