Khaing Zin Thant was born in Yangon, the former capital city of Myanmar. Khaing got her master’s in English language and literature from Yadanabon University, Amarapura, in 2016. Her graduate thesis focused on the relationship between the diversity of the words and the aesthetic effect of poems. She has started teaching English as a foreign language in a private school since 2016 and volunteered to teach in a monastery in 2018. Khaing is Fulbright FLTA scholarship grantee 2019-2020 and teaching elementary Burmese language class at Indiana University Bloomington. Nothing is more interesting to her than studying syllabus-design and assessment. Moreover, Khaing enjoys traveling, reading books, meeting new people, cooking, and walking with dogs in her free time. Going to Farmers’ Market on Saturdays and visiting the festival of arts and crafts are her favorite things to do in Bloomington.
